The Curvilinear Series of Gifts was developed, like many of the Froebel® Gifts, after Froebel's death. Froebel established the philosophical foundation for these Gifts in his book Education by Development, but their use was not formalized until much later. Froebel clearly advocated the use of the curvilinear solids in his writings, tying their use to the cylinder in Gift 2.

Our Curvilinear Gift is based on the set sold by the Milton Bradley Company designed by Minnie Maud Glidden . These sets are featured in the book The Kindergarten Building Gifts by Elizabeth Harrison & Belle Woodson. This set of 48 curved wood blocks is divided into four concentric rings 1/2-inch thick with 4 vertical 3/4 inch layers.

This Gift is best used with children 3 years-old and older, as it contains small pieces that may pose a choking hazard for younger children. SMALL PARTS WARNING: May pose a choking hazard. Not for children under 3 yrs. Manufactured in China.
