Froebel's Gifts 2-6 are also known as the "Building Gifts." This set includes Gifts 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 in beautiful wood slide-top boxes, along with an instruction booklet and a double-sided grid card. If you are interested in obtaining the full set of Froebel blocks, this is the most economical way.
Gift 2 contains a two-inch solid wood sphere, two 2-inch solid wood cylinders (one drilled with holes in each axis so it can be spun using the hanging apparatus created with its slide-top box), and two solid wood cubes (one also drilled on each axis).
Gift 3 contains 8 one-inch solid wood cubes in a slide-top wood box (approx. 3 inches on each side).
Gift 4 contains 8 solid wood oblong blocks (1 by 2 by .5 inches each) in a slide-top wood box (approx. 3 inches on each side).
Gift 5 contains 21 one-inch solid wood cubes, 6 half-cube triangular prisms, and 12 quarter-cube triangular prisms in a slide-top wood box (approx. 4 inches on each side). The triangular prisms are small enough that they pose a choking hazard for children in age 3.
Gift 6 contains 18 solid wood oblong blocks (1 by 2 by .5 inches each), 6 half-oblong solid wood columns (.5 by .5 by 2 inches), and 12 half-oblong solid wood caps (1 by 1 by .5 inches) in a slide-top wood box (approx. 4 inches on each side). The columns are small enough to fit in the choke tube and pose a choking hazard for children in age 3.
These sets have traditionally been sold together and provide a sequence of educational materials unlike any other. The sets are made of natural wood and manufactured in China. The slide-top boxes feature a non-toxic, clear coating to minimize wear from constant handling, but are otherwise made from natural materials.
